SKIN NEEDLING FAQ

Below is a list of Skin Needling frequently asked questions. If you have any further questions, please contact the salon on 0401 846 509.

What skin conditions does skin needling treat?

  • Acne scarring

  • Enlarged pores

  • Pigmentation

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Improves skin tone and texture

  • Stretch marks

  • Collagen renewal (anti ageing)

Is skin needling painful?

You may experience slight discomfort with microneedling treatment. As the skin is penetrated with microneedles it creates small controlled wound channels that may feel tender to touch. We do offer numbing cream application at the time of your appointment to make your experience more comfortable. Please let us know if you require numbing cream so that we can add additional time to your treatment.

What do I need to prep my skin?

We suggest for optimum results, to help prepare your skin with the right skin care and oral products. This may include:

  • Zinc for wound healing and immune support

  • Topical application of a customised serum or mask

  • SPF to avoid being burnt prior to your treatment

  • Home rolling [home version of skin needling]

This is to ensure your skin is calm and ready for treatment.

*We advise to discontinue Retinols, Retin A and Vitamin A creams or serums 3-5 days prior to treatment as these products are harsh and may aggravate the skin.

Can I resume normal activity after my treatment?

You can attend work or social events post treatment. We do suggest avoiding make-up application or activities that make you sweat up to 24 hours post treatment.

What is the downtime involved?

The beauty of this treatment is there is no downtime, however your skin will feel hot and sensitive for 24 - 48 hours.

*Please avoid any anti-inflammatory medications post treatment as these interfere with the bodies natural healing response. Apply cold press towel to minimise discomfort.
